  • How good the Edifier W820BT Wireless Headset really is?

    Time: Mar. 11, 2020

After the Edifier W800BT, Edifier returned to the drawing board to update the best-selling headphones and launched the new Edifier W820BT Wireless Bluetooth Headphones.

What is the best quality of the Edifier W820BT?

It is obvious what Edifier is trying to do here. On the front, there is really only a Bluetooth logo and a very thin font that says "W820BT Bluetooth stereo headset." There is a red helmet on the front of the box. However, pay attention to the back.

On the back we see some of the features listed in different languages, as well as a list of the content contained in the box itself. It also indicates the color of the helmet you will receive. The color is shown in the lower right corner.

Opening the box is quite easy. First it came in a shrink wrap we cut, and the case is easy to remove, revealing the Edifier W820BT and a very small accessory compartment underneath.

We took everything out of the accessory compartment and found a TRS audio connector with a right angle connector, a micro USB charging cable and the instruction manual. To be fair, Edifier accessories are quite normal.

The general design language here is quite standard. The Edifier W820BT helmet has a fairly normal overall design. The helmet itself is foldable this time, which makes it easier to pack and store in the bag.

Thanks to the minimum amount of metal in the Edifier W820BT, it is also very light. It is mainly plastic, but it feels much more solid than its predecessor.

In terms of functions, the Edifier W820BT does not do much compared to its other brothers. Most of the magic is in the right atrium, as there is an LED indicator, a power switch, a volume control, the micro USB charging port and a single microphone.

The 3.5mm audio jack is on the left earphone. This is the connection for the supplied audio connector, found in the accessory box. We mentioned that this is a TRS cable, which means that the microphone does not work through the 3.5mm audio jack. You must connect the headphones via Bluetooth for the microphone to work.

The general comfort of the Edifier W820BT is very good. Leprechaun-shaped ears like mine felt good after hours of use, but keep in mind that any strenuous movement will drop the helmet. Also keep in mind that the Edifier W820BT may not be suitable for you if your head is larger than average.
